How we found our Germ Busters

The above description of the skin started by referring to its ability to protect us against germs. Just what we were searching for. We started to investigate SKIN but also investigated the whole range of the immune system’s amazing methods of protecting us from pathogens, but never forgetting SKIN. Eventually we put everything else to one side and concentrated on SKIN. Finally, after using some simple logic, we found just what we needed. The logic being that SKIN can be regarded as the doorkeeper of our bodies. No pathogens can get past the doorkeeper!

BUT!!! There are HOLES in our skin!
The SKIN is so competent at preventing Ingress of germs that these holes in the skin must also have a system/defence that is as competent.
So we looked into what protects us at these holes and we discovered a wonderful technology.
This was not a new discovery, it has been known and written about for much of the last century. To our surprise there had been no commercialisation of this technology for human health. It has several “names” by which it is referred in the academic world and a few applications have been proposed in the food industry. But nothing in Human Health. The active molecule that destroys pathogens is HYPOTHIOCYANITE
