But that is reversing to infectious diseases as being dominant and we must find a new way forward. AND SOON!

On current trends, infections are once again coming to the fore. Dietary changes have left our immune systems depleted and dysfunctional. At the same time, increasing antibiotic resistance has led to the emergence of many different ‘superbugs’.

The combination of these two factors threatens to overwhelm many aspects of modern medicine. In fact, O’Neill reports forecast that deaths from AMR infections could reach 10 million worldwide by 2050.

We are racing against time, and against many potentially virulent pathogens and we must find a new way forward.

First, we must overcome ABR and then lead societies to a better understanding of dietary effects – positive and negative – on our health.
